Yayyyeeeee....

I'm so happy! I passed my CIA examination! Yayyyeeee....

The results were released on 15 January but somehow, I never receive any news from the Institute. Today, I finally lost my patience and gave them a call to find out *nervous* I was all frozen when the lady took a while to give me my long-awaited answer [she was probably looking thru the file for my result]. It was a scary moment. Felt as if I was back to the old time when I sat in front of the computer, waiting for my CPA result to suddenly pop up. That could easily cause heart-attack. Can't believe I'm back to that same situation after so many years ;p

I remembered feeling so stress before the exam. Am so glad that I can now move on to other units. Yayeeeee..... (^^)y

Good Food Discovery

Planned to have chicken porridge for dinner tonight. I thought it's only sensible that I eat something light after stuffing myself with a lot of fatty food for the past few days.

Passed by Kch Chicken Porridge but it wasn't opened :( There are quite a lot of eateries around. I could go to Curry House for Indian food. Hmmm... I better not. I just had papadoms last saturday. There is a very yummy claypot rice nearby but... rice again? A bit too heavy leh... Well, there are a couple of restaurants in the area too but... I'm in 'save mode'. What....? Everything has gone up but my salary so I should try not to spend too much. Gotta save some $$ for rainy days! Life is unpredictable. You never know when you need the money for a feast! ;p

Kch is known as a food haven but somehow, we always have trouble deciding where and what to eat. Weird I know... but that's the fact. We drove around aimlessly while thinking of a place for dinner. Suddenly, a banner by the roadside caught our attention -- fried rice, fried noodles, fried bee hoon or fried kueh tiaw for RM2.50; Chicken Chop for RM6.50; Fish & chips for RM8.50; Nasi Lemak, Curry Chicken or Porridge for RM2.50.....? I'm not sure what attracted me the most. The food or the price or the fact that I was hungry ;p

The place is called Heritage Cafe, previously a gallery and now being converted to a cafe. Quite an ordinary cafe and pretty quiet too. Honestly, my friend and I thought of 'running away' because we figured that, with a business like that, food must be quite ordinary too. Then we thought - RM2.50 for a mistake doesn't seem so bad lah. So we walked in. This is a risk all food hunters must be able take ^^

Never judge a book by its cover is the lesson I've learnt. Not only are food cheap but also surprisingly tasty! AND they are huge for that kind of price too. I ordered a sandwich. It was half the size of the sandwich I get at
Tempayan. AND for only

RM 3.50!!!!

My sandwich (1 sunny side up egg, turkey ham, 1 slice of melted cheese, tomatoes, lettuce) comes with Coleslaw, french fries.

Let me summarise my meal at HC - cheap, delicious & big portion. It's definitely value for money. Am definitely going back there again... Heard that the Nasi Lemak is not bad... I shall try it the next time I go... As it's a family business [the owner & family live upstairs], food menu is limited and service can be a bit slow. It's OK lah... just order, sit back and enjoy the aircond while waiting....... ^^

A Sinful Act

I know I shouldn't be doing this because I have promised myself (for many years) to lose the spare tire. I forget my resolution when I see food. So weak of me horrrr....?

The Manhatthan FISH MARKET has finally come to Kch. And guess what? The Garlic Lemon Mussels are on offer until 31 Jan 2008. A serving of 5 mussels in creamy, buttery sauce is only RM6.95! Hehe, am not a very big lover of mussels but with that kind of price and quality, I couldn't help but went there for supper last night ;p' *Ooooppss, i did it again*

The mussels were V FRESH and the sauce went so well with the seafood! Hehe, i'm ashamed to say this - the serving plate was sparkling clean. I didn't lick it clean lah. That's an act that is only performed at home hiak hiak... Why else do u think the bread is there...? ^^

Was full but very contented after the meal... Probably will go again next week before the offer ends. This time, I must go with an empty tummy....

Devastating News

Just received a terrible news half-way thru my dinner just now :'( *lost my appetite*

My buddy has been admitted to the hospital for more than two weekends *sob sob* Life is sure meaningless without her!! :( Two weekends ago, I found that my home CPU keeps restarting by itself for no reason. No matter what I do, she just won't function normally. I even went thru the express test with the Dell support guy and still, he couldn't fix her. I have no choice but to send her to my trusted computer guy with a high hope that he can end my misery.

The computer expert called just now to inform me that my buddy is in a CRITICAL condition. That's a very serious word! He said he has performed multiple surgeries & operation on her but still there is no improvement. I'm really worried......

From the moment I have my CPU, I've NEVER done any back up. Yup, that's an even more worrying news. Yes, I know the importance of back up. In fact, I'd a (female sense) feeling that I should back up my data just days before my CPU breaks down and I did try to copy the content into my external hard disk. Unfortunately, I couldn't get my external drive to function as well. That's Double OH-NO!!!

NoOOOOooooo... Hard disks, don't leave meeEEeeee..... My hard disks know me better than anyone else because they contain stories of my life! Losing the data would be like losing all my memories!! :'( Oh God, please help me.....

AND to add salt to my already-very-serious wound - guess what? Some bloody greedy thief took my new bottle of shampoo!!! I left my bath sponge, hair and body shampoo at the gym's shower yesterday and when I went back for them just now, everything else was still there except for my new bottle of hair shampoo! It was gone. GONE! G-O-N-E!!! I can't believe it! Why would someone who can afford a membership at the prestigious gym take someone else's shampoo? Is she too poor to get her own? I remembered picking up a watch at a machine one time and being a honest person, I handed it to the gym supervisor. The watch owner must be very thankful for my honesty. That's the way things should be isn't it? Arrrgghhhhhh.... what has the world become???? Here is a message to whoever that stole my shampoo - I hope all your hair fall out!

Pls excuse me for 5 seconds. I gotta do this....

AAaaaaHHHHHHHHH..... AAaaaahhhhHHHHHHH...

The Year of Rat has not even started and already my life is full of bumps?!?!? T_T Tsk, I don't even have the guts to think about how harsh my life will be for the rest of the Rat year......... Sighhhhh....

Life is difficult..........

A Taste of India

I know. When i mentioned India, the images of the Indian men and women chasing around, singing and dancing in open area popped up ^^

I remembered watching Indian movies on tv when I was small. I didn't understand a word they said but all the dancing, singing and chasing around kept me watching AND amused d(*V*)p After so many years of watching Indian movies, I still don't know where and how all the other dancers suddenly show up in the background.

I must share these clips because I couldn't stop laughing when my bro showed me. Must be tough being a Bollywood star - gotta be able to sing and do funky dance at the same time! Without prejudice k.

*"*"*"*"*"*"*"*"*"*"*"*"*"*"*"*"**"*"*"*"*"*"*"*

I develop a love for Indian food recently. Somehow, the spices they use in their cooking spice up my toungue! I find Indian curry much tastier and less oily than the Malay one & their Rojak healthier (coz no prawn paste) than the Chinese one. But my favourites among all are Papadoms and Teh Halia (Ginger Milk Tea). Hmmm Mmmm... the fried thin, crisp Indian crackers are addictive. Just like Pringles, once you eat (pop), you can't stop! I love ginger so naturally, i also like teh Halia. It's spicy but creamy.

Had nasi bryanni, ginger milk tea and also ordered extra papadoms for lunch today. I know I shouldn't be eating papadoms because i'm couhing but what the heck... just eat first, be happy and suffer later ;p

Spring in Kch

My friends brought me to see Fish Leong the other night. She has always been one of my favourite singers. I like her even before she becomes rich and famous. *Hooray to the talented Malaysian singer!*

Her very first song was a duet with Guan Liang called '' 只能抱着你". A very nice song. I even remember where I saw the MTV! That shows how powerful my memory is (so, don't mess with me coz i will remember it for LIFE hahahaha...) ;p

At that time, I was slaving like a cow for EY (I was only a cheaply-paid trainee!) in Limbang. Her voice is so beautiful that I no longer heard my senior! I must admit, it effectively drowned out the unwanted noise! hehe...

Fish Leong sings like a bird and even after so many years, she still has beautiful voice which touches ppl's hearts.

Fish Leong thanked Fans with her fabulous voice

It's Spring time in Kch *me dancing around*

The Spring has opened! Yayeeeeee.. *Me doing break dance* There is finally a decent shopping mall in Kch! At last, we get our very own Guess, Esprit, L'Occitane, Padini, The FACESHOP, Sushi King, Desserts, Charles & Keith, NOSE, MPH Bookstores, The Manhattan Fish Market, Big Apple Donuts [why not Krispy Kreme instead??? :( ] & etc...

Went for a walk on its opening day. I was not being kia-su [afraid to lose] k. My initial plan was to visit only after one week of its opening because my very accurate female [6th] sense told me that the area would be congested for Kch ppl are curious (AKA kia-su) animals. I went because I wasn't the one driving ;p Yup, just because all I had to do is sit back & relax & wait for H to find a place to park. Aaaahhh, 1st class service... Here is a piece of additional news just to prove that I'm not kia-su - I haven't visited Boulevard [another new (but crappy) shopping mall in Kch] which has been opened for almost a month! hehe... d(^^)p

The area was indeed congested, as predicted. Could hardly find a place to park our car! Even half of the main road was taken by illegal-parked cars! That's the uncivilised thing about Kch ppl (me excluded of coz). They park anywhere they want at their own convenience without considering the side effects. How hard is it to walk a few metres?? Okie, let's not go into that unless u wanna hear endless complaints fro me hehe...

The Spring is huge, by Kch standard. And with Chinese New Year just weeks away from now, the Shopping mall is nicely decorated with Cherry Blossoms. Ooooo.. I could already feel the spring in the air! I couldn't help walking with a spring in my steps too! ^^

It was a sea of blacks in the building too. There were long Qs everywhere. Hmmm.. definitely not the day to buy things. Even so, I managed to get myself a pack of fresh mushrooms from Ta Kiong for tonight's pasta carbonara [bumped into a friend at the cashier who helped to pay], a cup of green tea latte in my tummy and lots of fun :)

Make sure you add The Spring to your travel itinerary the next time u visit Kch k. I better go now before the crowds spring up. Jenn wants to sip a cup of coffee at Starbucks first to boost up her energy before a shopping (aka spending) spree... byeeee...

Sweet + Bitter Day

It's kinda nice to come out for breakfast before sunrise once in a while.

Mum and bro's flight to Australia was an hour earlier than Jane's. So after we sent them off to the airport, Dad, Jane and I then went to one of our favourite kopitiams, LXY for handmade Hakka noodles. When we got there at 6.15am, the shop was only 'half opened' and the girls were still busy setting up tables and chairs. We grabbed a seat at the corridor & ordered our drinks and noodles. Hey, it feels quite refreshing to be at the kopitiam while the sky is still dark! No cars, no crowds, cool breeze, no noise, can hear birds chirping, can see ppl jogging by the roadside... somemore we received very good customer service too as we were their first customers for the day!! ^^

My morning started quite well except for a few tears and sadness. My plan for the rest of the Sunday was to take it easy and nap if possible. I haven't had enough sleep since Jane's return 2 weeks ago! Must cherish every second, every minute of our precious time mah :p

Just when I was about to fall asleep, my brother called from Brunei, asking me where my mum's valid Australia visa is. Hmm.. that's odd. I remembered reminding everyone about their passports before their departures! My brother said the one mum brought expired in 2005! OMG! I then frantically searched the whole house, hoping that my bro and mum have overlooked and that the valid visa is with them all along. Not only was the house turned upside down, my world was upside down too because I FOUND her visa.

Apparently, mum's visa is in an old passport but she mistook the oldER one instead. The worst thing is, they had already boarded the plane and were already on their way to Australia. Gosh, this is terrible. Mum might be asked to fly back! @0@ I always make sure everyone brings the latest passport after J's case last year. Another reminder to be added to my list after mum's incident liao...

As it was Sunday, we couldn't contact the Aus immigration for help. So dad and I thought of emailing the scanned copy of mum's visa to my sister in Aus who would then bring it to the airport. Some of us were actually quite worried that this might not work as AUS Immigration and custom are famous for their v strict rules. There were no other choices. We just gotta try.

Finding a scanner in Kch was harder than I thought! I spent the whole afternoon running around Kch looking for one! I was already both mentally and physically exhausted. That includes my body & soul, my brain and eyes.
Geez, mayb I should just buy a cheap scanner! That would save me a lot of trouble!

I don't wanna recall how I finally found a scanner. It makes me exhausted just by thinking back! Anyway, am glad that our efforts paid off because the AUS immi let mum thru (^^)y *Yayeeeee* It was definitely a BIG relief!

This is a scary incident and definitely a lesson learned! Luckily mum has a bunch of helpful kids or else, she would be deported to M'sia today hahahaha... I can laugh abt it now because nothing bad happens. Phew... 好才是有惊无险... Thank God........

I looked exactly like this yesterday - an exhausted Panda

When will I see u again?

Feeling pretty sad right now. Just back from airport - sending mum, bro and Jane off. Home is suddenly quiet :'( Can't believe that they all left on the same day! *sob sob*

With my sibblings scattering all over the world, parting and getting together seem to have become big parts of our lives. I thought I have become accustomed to such life. After all, I've gone thru these moments countless times. Just like the number of twinkling stars in the sky. Clearly, I haven't because I still feel sad about their departures and am really missing them now!

"Why can't we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn't work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say good-bye. I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos."
