The Wise Man

An older friend is going to Melbourne at the end of this month. She is a
Coffee Addict & asked me if Instant Coffee is allowed into Australia. An excellent choice of person to ask. Being in and out of Australia numerous times, i've seen LOTS of things being discarded and confiscated at the custom. My expert advice is that anything with Milk content is a big no no. This news is devastating to her for life is pretty much meaningless without having a cup in the morning.

She seems not able to accept this piece of information. There are more varieties of coffee to choose from in Australia and I'm sure they taste a million times nicer than the 3-in-1 coffee! She insists on taking her chance, hoping that the custom officers will overlook or the officers will let her go once they hear her 'pitiful' reasons. Well, some ppl just gotta learn their lessons the hard way even though advices have been given.

Hey, I may be younger, but that doesn't mean I'm not wiser! ^_^

Deserts fit for a King

WARNING: Viewer might swallow his/her monitor or laptop.

If you think you cannot handle it, please do NOT scroll down.

I'm sure people will not do as warned because it's human nature to be CURIOUS hehe....

I hereby present you with the Durian Puffs/Tarts...

Ta da.......

[Go on. Take a bite! OR a few bites hehe...]

These are no ordinary tarts/puffs okay. We walked 1/2 hour from Takashimaya to get these little devils! Again, it proves that I would do anything
for food & that Evil Jenn always rules when food is involved. haha... These tarts/puffs may look very 'normal' but remember - NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER! Make your judgement only after u have put one into your mouth. These plain looking deserts are made from good quality durians and are only available once a year. Yup, they are very rare and damn delicious!! They actually taste better than real durians! I'm serious! Even durian haters will fall in love with these! ^_^ How do they taste? Hmmm... let me sum it up in one sentence: Aaahhh, simply heavenly!

If you want no regrets in life, then walk under the hot sun for 1/2 hour to get them. They certainly worth the effort! Believe me......

i LIVE to EAT

FOOD has always been an important part of my life. My philosophy of life is simple: No food = No life. Recently, I discover the beauty of Korean food. My sister who has been taking Korean food religiously for the past two months is responsible for this new found love of mine. I know we are no experts on Korean food and still have a lot to learn. One thing I know for sure is that it's delicious and very healthy. My personal favourites are Kimchi, Kimchi Jigae and Bibimbap. Honestly, I sux at taking spicy food. They give me running nose and perspiration. Yeah, whatever..... They are simply SOOOoooOOOooo yummy!

[Hot babe! Her name is Kimchi!]

[The sight of Kimchi Jigae makes me feel hot]

[Introducing - Bibimbap. One of the things I like abt this dish is the crispy burnt rice. Yum...]

Life is sweet & bitter

Forrest Gump was right - life is indeed like a box of chocolate. You never know what you will get next. You may have gotten the chocolate of your dreams now but that doesn't mean that it will be the same next.

Tonight, I've learned to expect the unexpected. Let me tell you a story (in a heavy Indian accent) -
my friends and I arrived in Senai Airport with full spirits tonight. Our long-discussed trip is finally a reality! The beginning of the trip was sweet & perfect - no rush to airport, no Q at check-in counter, our plane took off early & our luggage were among the 1st to come out. Aaaahhh... life couldn't have been better!!

Just when we were in the taxi, trying to fill in our immigration forms, one of my dear friends yelled
"OH NO! I BROUGHT MY EXPIRED PASSPORT!!!". It took me several seconds to register what was heard. It must be a joke. Yeah, funny... as if I would believe!! Only when I took a look at the passport did I realise that it is indeed an expired passport!! OMG!!

I'm still in shock as I type this story. We have yet to come out with a solution. It's late at night (correction: very early in the morning) now and our exhausted brains cannot function properly. Let's just go to sleep and hopefully, when we wake up in a few hours time, this is just a bad dream.....

My prayer answered

The residents and road users of Bamfpylde Road should celebrate. FINALLY, my area is no longer pitch dark at night y(^V^)y

Tonight is the night to be remembered by all for it's the night the street lights are turned on! I'm so proud to see the brightly lit street. Aaaahh, A sense of achievement!! All the troubles and efforts I've gone thru are worth it. Months ago, I gathered 'autographs' from family, friends and colleagues. A request for street lightings was then sent to a local Council. Within weeks, my 'prayer' was answered for I noticed poles were being put up. I was ecstatic! I couldn't believe that the Council had acted so promptly to my request! However, my happiness and excitement slowly faded as the pitch dark nights continued...

After months of patient waiting, I decided that I've to do something or else my friends will forever miss the turning to my home. Thus, I followed up with our local Council on the matter. A council representative informed me that the delay is on the electricity company. Past experience has taught me NOT to depend on others too much if you want things to get done fast. So I decided to take matters into my own hands. I desperately want BRIGHTER street. I would do whatever it takes to get what I want even if it means going thru "swords hill'! Fortunately, i didn't have to go to that extent. Phewwww...

I checked with the electricity company. Bing bang bong and with the help of my great friends in the electricity company, we managed to get the relevant authority to act fast. REAL FAST!! ^v^ Within 1 week, I get my brightly lit Bampfylde Road.

(Go on. Take a walk at nite ;p)

(Wrong turn? Miss a turn? Can't find the way? These excuses are no longer valid! haha..)

** My sincere thanks to all who have helped to make our road safer and brighter :)

www.weird weird world.com

I found my colleague with puffy, red eyes today. It turns out that she only went to bed at 4 this morning. Her sister-in-law had a fight with her husband & was crying her eyes out. She claimed that her husband has treated her unfairly. Apparently, her SIL has a 'special' relationship with her male boss & her husband discovered it 'accidentally' when going thru her mobile phone. She wanted to divorce her husband for accussing her for having an affair. She claimed that she has never slept with her boss. Her husband spent the whole night BEGGING her not to divorce him and ASSURED that he will never accuse her again.

How ironic! Shouldn't the situation be reversed? Shouldn't the wife be the one to beg for forgiveness? Just because she didn't sleep with her boss doesn't mean that she didn't betray her husband! She has certainly committed emotional infidelity for she has been unfaithful in her heart. The problem is, she doesn't think that she has been unfaithful or betrayed her husband. She blamed her unhappy marriage on her husband. She has 'fallen in love' with her boss because she finds him more gentle, caring, loving, fun to be with etc than her husband. Basically he is everything her husband is not. That's because they only see each other at their best, Dummy! And they don't have to deal with any of the bad stuff like fighting or getting irritated about everyday stuff. This kind of relationship is platonic and thus, she keeps kidding herself that her growing bond with him is ok. She is not sleeping with him so she doesn't see any need to feel guilty. Poor Husband.

It's a weird world out there... I will never be able to fully understand it.
