My Back Up Plan in Hanoi

I'm tired from luggage packing.

I'm leaving tomorrow night and I'm still not done with packing yet :( JAaaNneeeeee.... you are an expert in packing. Can come help me??? Hmmm.... On 2nd thought, I better not get her help. I don't wanna end up with 20 boxes of things!!! ;D hiak hiak hiak...

Checked the weather forecast on Yahoo last night. The one week predictions look like this:

Pretty mini. Nvm, picture says a thousand words!

Consistently rainy and stormy for the whole week that I'm there! How depressing huh? Have I packed my red rain coat (will look like Little Red Ridding Hood ;p) & umbrella? Checked. Well, at least I don't have to worry about getting baked like a sweet potato under the hot sun...

If it is too wet to do anything outdoor, I will just stick to indoor activity, like indulging in...

AND

Fanny's Ice Cream Parlour. There are more than 60 flavours to choose from!
I want them ALL ;p'

Well, they say if you can't beat 'em, just join 'em ^^

The colourful ice creams will shine like rainbows! A very good way to brighten up the gloomy mood!! ;)

I want want want.......!!!

see? Not so gloomy anymore right?

*Happy Gawai Holidays!!*

Sweet Dreams Don't Last

I had a sweet dream last night.

I was with my family at a restaurant for buffet. The area was HUGE, with all kinds of food and desserts you can imagine! I started collecting a walnut bread from baskets full of all kind of pastries and filled my bowl with cereals and lots of my favourite nuts, seeds and berries. Just when I was about to pour warm milk into my cereal, my alarm clock went off. How sad is that? I didn't have a chance to look at the rest of the food! To make it worse, I didn't even manage to taste the food I'd collected!! :( Mannnn... I was sOOoooo happy in my dream!

Hope to continue with my dream tonight...............

Wish me luck!~

Heart Attack

My adventure to Hanoi will start next Friday...

I have been liaising with a Vietnamese travel agent since the day we bought our tickets. As the trip is happening in one week's time, I thought I better get assurance that our tours to Halong Bay and Sapa are really, truly, definitely confirmed.

Since I don't have the luxury to access Yahoo Messenger (YM) during work hour, I asked J to YM the Vietnamese guy. I was happy when J sent an email to tell me that they were now discussing about our tours online. Great!

I was worried that the Vietnamese travel agent might have forgotten about us because I haven't heard from him for more than 8 days. So you could imagine how relieved I was to know that J managed to catch him! :) Ahhh.... i can finally take the weight off my chest.... *la la la....*

Sadly, this peacefulness didn't last long. J's second email made me jumped out of my seat. WHY? I was told that the Vietnamese guy I've been communicated with all these weeks does not exist!!

How can that be?!!! We have been writing to each other like pen-pals and one week before our departure, he doesn't exist?!?!? Weird I thought because his replies were professionally written and he didn't sound like a con. What's more, someone has dealt with him in person before and recommended him to me! Man, this is too bizarre...

After some clarifications and investigations, I found out that my dear friend had talked to the WRONG guy from the WRONG agency! J, you really scared the shit out of me!!!! For a moment, I thought the person I've been liaising with all this while was a fraud!! Haha... funny how things get mixed up this way...

I managed to call Mr. Nguyen last night. He sounds friendly and speaks good English. Most importantly, he assured me that our bookings are already confirmed...

Man, pls don't play with my emotions anymore. I've a weak heart..........

What a day....

When you don't get what you want, you blame life for treating you unfairly. But when you do, you start to suspect that something bad might happen. This is exactly how i felt last Friday. Weird I know but after being involved in a series of unfortunate events, i can't help being skeptical....

I got what I wanted without much effort that day... In Chinese, we describe this situation as 要风得风, 要雨的雨 (direct translation being 'want wind get wind, want rain get rain')...

I've been craving for a cup of nice hot chocolate (to me, it's the only genuine choc drink in Kch) and a piece of their signature cheesecake at Hilton for a long time. So I suggested to J that we go for dessert. Coincidently, that's exactly what J had in mind too!!

Then, my colleague came to ask me where to go for lunch. Before I'd the chance to express my opinions, he suggested to have lunch at my favourite Indian shop. Gosh, that's exactly what I had in mind too!! At that point, a funny thought popped up - would something bad happen to bring me down from heaven? I told Jane about it. She laughed that I think too much and too far.... Hope you are right, Jane.

After lunch, I headed towards the direction where my car was parked. I stopped half way, stood frozen and heart pumping fast. I could NOT find my car! Oh gosh! Don't tell me...... Oh Gosh Oh Gosh.....

My mind went blank for what it seemed like a million years. I kept looking around for my car! Oh man, this is too much too lose for 1 cup of hot chocolate and some Indian food! The punishment is too serious lah *Pray hard*

Then, it suddenly occurred to me that I no longer drive my Purple Dinasaur! My small new buddy was right there, next to a white van

*pai say*

Apart from the false alarm, the day ended well. In fact, it ended with lots of desserts - a cup of hot chocolate, Marble Cheesecake, followed by a Chocolate Truffle cake, Pandan Tiramisu and an McD apple pie at 4am on Saturday morning.

Rolled chocolate sticks to dip in hot milk... Heavenly....

The Secret is Out

It's not a secret anymore..... (it certainly won't be after this post ;p)

My colleague found me at the staircase today when he was on his way back
to his office. He stopped for a brief talk while I just went up and down the staircase. Curious, he asked what I was doing.

Hehe, that's my office exercise. I've been obediently doing that for the past few weeks. With my lack of movement in office, I feel myself looking more and more like a bucket, like a shapeless potato. I can't even tell the difference between my waist and my butt! Hence this exercise.

I climb at least 100 steps per day. So far so good. It's also
a way to get myself prepared for my Vietnam trip (I will be on my way to Hanoi this time in 15 days time!). Yayeeee... can kill two birds with one stone! Convenient.......

Don't Worry, Be Happy!!

Happy Birthday to all my friends!!!
^^

Wah, so bright and so HOT. The candles disappeared in no time! ;p

Don't be sad when you can no longer tell the difference between a cake and a fireball. Age is just a number. What's important is that you don't let yourself grow old. Enjoy everyday as though it's your last. I think happiness is the essence of youthfulness! What's better? It doesn't cost a thing! Just smile (esp at times of difficulties) and the world will smile with u. It really works because it has been tested on human (namely me ;p)!

Sometimes I wonder why we human beings created so many events to celebrate. If celebrations are there to remind us of certain happy moments, personally i would like to celebrate them any day, any time I want and if it's not too greedy to ask, everyday ;p After all, living happily everyday is what we all want in life isn't it?

Here is a joke from Jerry Seinfeld which I LOVE:

"I don’t know about you, but I’m getting sick of pretending to be excited every time it’s somebody’s birthday, you know what I mean? What is the big deal? How many times do we have to celebrate that someone was born? Every year, over and over… All you did was not die for twelve months. That’s all you’ve done, as far as I can tell......."

Sarcastic yet funny.

Not being dead for 12 months is an accomplishment. There, the real reason why we celebrate birthdays ;P

Blur Queen

Can't believe that it happened AGAIN!

I blame Jane for it. She travels around too often that I sometimes lose track of her whereabouts! That day, Jane asked me to call her at her Hotel in Japan. I called..........

M: Me H: Hotel Receptionist

H: Moshi Moshi, ....... (standard hotel greetings in Japanese)
M: Hi, Could you pls pass the line to Room 1331?
H: Sorry, could you pls repeat?
M: Room 1331 pls.
H: Errrr.. what's the guest's name?
M: Jane Kho
H: Jenny Ko?
M: No, Jane Kho. J-A-N-E K-H-O
*Silence*
M: J for Jordan, A for apple etc.....
H: O... Jen Ko
(I was relieved. He finally got me!)
H: Errrr.. she is not here.
M: Huh? what do u mean? She just asked me to call her. *Confused*
H: She is not in the hotel.
M: *VERY confused* But she is in her room. Could you pls try again?
H: I'm soli m'am, She is not in the hotel
M: She is in the hotel. She just called me! *i said that determinely*
H: Soli M'am, *still v polite* I don't get you. We don't have room 1331. We only have 7 floors.

>_<" <--------- ME!!!

It turns out that I've called the hotel which Jane had checked out in that morning! I forgot that she had moved back to her Sunday-to-thurs-hotel after her weekend fun in Tokyo city!

Jane! it's all your fault that it happened. It's funny how I managed to embarrass myself in Japan without physically being there! Gosh, you move around too much lah! It's making me confused! haha...

So Much Work Involved!

I've had long straight hair for many years. It's time to change (again).

I still prefer straight hair - just wash hair and leaving it to dry up naturally. Furthermore, there is also no need to massage tonnes of hair care products onto my hair after wash. Having straight hair means not having to be perceived as 'mentally-distressed' because of the need to occasionally twist hair with fingers (Psychologists said people who do that are often distressed) to make the curls curlier.....

Jenn's curly hair

Fortunately, I don't have to go through those troubles everyday................ because this is just a temporary one * phew*

It's WAR Time!

A war has been declared! The quiet one has finally spoken and decided to show the active one who the big boss is! Never underestimate what one can do, especially the quiet one....

It's a war between Hello Kitty! and Ultraman......... *?!?!?!*

Jane is right. She does spend a bit unwisely when she travels
alone. Their usefulness depends on how creative one is. Jane spent a few weeks in Taipei this January and bought some 'projectors' (dunno what the exact name is) there. Not sure what she was thinking at that time; Must have been attracted by the cute characters.

Point the device at a flat surface and at a touch of the button, a cartoon character will be projected onto the surface.

I have had these little projectors for months and haven't thought of what to do with them. I'm glad to announce that I've finally figured out what to do with them! I'm so creative, i know \(^@^)/ *proud*

I brought these with me to the movies last night (P/S: Iron Man is GOOD! Highly Recommended! It's not stupidly funny AND Robert Downey Jr is sOOoo handsome & sexy!). As soon as the lights in the theatre were off, I naugthily played with the device and projected a pinky Hello Kitty! onto the screen. It was hilarious! My friends and I couldn't stop laughing. Haha.... Then we made Hello Kitty! danced with the music.. Buahahaha... that was even funnier! Then it was Hello Kitty! fighting Ultraman. Not sure what other audience think but it was pretty entertaining for us haha...

sorry that the pic is a bit dark

I'm crazy I know. But life is boring without some fun! Everyone needs laughters! ^^
