I'm turning into a zhang!!

I just ate a vegetarian zhong Zi (rice dumpling) from my colleague. That's my N zhong zi this week. Still more to go... 3 more on my desk and many more in the fridge at home, waiting to be enjoyed....

It's zhong Zi day today. hehe, that's the name we called these days. I wonder how many people still remember its real name and the history behind it. I know i still do *proud* ! ^^ *Wang Li Hom's song playing in the background*

zhong Zi... it brings back a lot of childhood memories. We used to help Mum make at home but with today's convenience, she hardly makes them anymore. We can easily get one from any shop for $3. No need to spend days preparing and making. Of coz, nothing beats homemade ones. Mum's dumplings are always overstuffed with delicious ingredients! We could even request mum to customise it according to our likings. For me, I like mine with lots of chestnuts. The more the merrier... Yum Yum...

My current favourite zhong zi is one with taro. I'm a sucker for taro. Anything with taro, I like.....

端午节愉快!

無可救藥

The other day, I accidentally caught my left thumb in the car door for the 2nd time. It was painful but I didn't cry like a baby like the previous time.

Then last weekend, when I was being a good daughter, helping out in the kitchen, i shredded a piece of flesh from my right thumb. For the 3rd time. Blood gushed out like lava and again, I didn't panic like the past.

I said it before that when the same mistake is made 3 times, blame no one but myself. I deserve whatever consequences it brings. Now, after going thru the same experiences multiple times, I realise something....

..... when the the same bad incident repeatedly happens, it becomes normal & part of my life. Just like having to eat and drink everyday. It turns into a routine and I expect it to happen and eventually become immuned to the consequences. So what do I do about it?

I'd say..... if you can't prevent it, adapt to it!

Surely, the phrase 'learn from mistake' doesn't apply to me. And i've come to accept that, my left thumb will always be the one getting caught in the door while my right thumb will always get shredded. Looks like life is quite fair in some cases. No thumb is better off than the other....

我.....认命了.

Unbelievable!

I'm horrified. My heart is very unsettled now. I can't believe that it actually happened, right before my very own eyes!

I was on my way home from work. As usual, I drove by The Spring Shopping Centre. There, I spotted 2 guys trying to cross the busy highway like many others who ignore the danger of doing so. Cars travel like lightning on the road and still people do it.

I heard a loud noise. Somebody shouted 'OI!!!' and when I turned my head to check, I saw it. BANG! One of the guys was hit by an oncoming motorbike! Both the motorbike and the rider somersaulted in the air, hit and slided a few meters on the ground. The other guy painfully wrapped himself like a ball in the middle of the road. The impact was huge. It was horrifying! I had goosebumps for... I can't remember how long. I was distracted by the scene. It haunts me! It kept playing over and over again in my mind!

Is it worth it to risk your and other innocent people's lives like that just because you decide to save $1 on parking? Or just because you don't want to use the pedestrian crossing because you need to walk 500m to get there?

I don't know how the guys do after the accident. I can't find any reports on that anywhere the next day.... But judging from what I saw, it was pretty bad. I hope everyone understands the danger of crossing a highway and stops doing it....

This is the crime scene

My real age

Did a quick and rough check-up last night to get an idea on how old my
body is vs my actual age. Scary coz a few friends had done it and all of them have bodies many years older than their real age!

Didn't want to do it at first but it's free, so why not? :P It's good to find out about my real body age now so i can do something (like eat less but fat hope) about it before big problems come along. Also, my heart is still strong (i think), I should be able to take the shock. Then again, may be I wouldn't feel anything coz I'm already immuned to bad results.....

I sure think a lot... Anyway, the fact is, I did the scanning, with everyone waiting eargerly to laugh at me...

Guess what? It turns out that my metabolic age is 19! Muahahahahaha... Everyone went silent for a while and then cheered for me.. I'm just as happy because that means I can continue living like a pig ^@^

Piggie has good life

Looks like I'm still at the 'growing' stage.... No wonder I eat like a teenager! hiak hiak....

Now you know my secret to youthfulnes...

The Shoe Stories

It's time for my Nike shoes to retire. They have given me 7 loOOooong years of reliable services. They have gone thru a lot of hardship (i think u can tell just by looking at their conditions) all these years but never once did they complain. It's goodbye to my silent friends... you guys will always be remembered...

I'm not planning to chuck them away just yet due to sentimental reason. It's 7 years of friendship!

These are my new friends.

I got this pair of handmade shoes from Hong Kong.

Aren't they cute? My colleagues love them! One colleague in particular... she kept coming over to my seat to admire their beauty. It's no surprise since they are on a pair of great legs. OOooo, may be she was admiring the legs instead hiak hiak....

I'm sOOooo talented!!

I'm so impressed with myself sometimes
* * You will agree too after this post :P

Am just willing to go through ANYTHING just to find out how to make food that I love or enjoy! Tell me, who else is MORE passionate in food than me? haha...

I love Kimchi. To get one small container of it at Korean restaurants, I will have to pay $10 and it only lasts one meal :( That's way too expensive to have everyday. So I decided to find out how to make my own. Oooo, it's soOOOooo easy (just time consuming)! With the same amount of money, I think I get 2 BIG containers of kimchi! Good deal hey? What's better? I can decide on the ingredients and amount to use!! HOooorrraaayyyy to DIY!

During our 3 days HK food adventure, we visited this dessert shop that makes really nice milk pudding
(燉奶) 2 days in a row. Jane must be pretty sick with me because I reminded her everyday to bring us there :P

Guess what? I made my own milk pudding at the weekend. It turned out so well and was YUM! Am I good or what? hiak hiak...

My BIG bowl of milk pudding - so smooth, so creamy.
It's better than tao fu fa!

There is no need for me to go all the way to HK and pay HKD18 for one small bowl of milk pudding anymoreee! y(^V^)y
I can eat it everyday too, if i want to!

My next target is to make
薑汁撞奶 (ginger milk pudding)!

So, who wants to buy from me? hehehe..... What? need to earn money so i can travel elsewhere to discover more good food ^^

Busy 9am something

*Puff* I can finally sit back and relax *breath*

Everything came up all at once for the last 15 mins - the flower delivery guy couldn't locate the recipient of the flower basket; the mechanic needed directions to come to my office to collect my car for service; I needed to push my colleague who hasn't done my hotel booking for my trip next Monday; my friends needed help with preparation for an event tonight.....

Fortunately I am a female. I read it in a few books that female can talk on the phone while polishing their nails and watching tv at the same time while men can only concentrate on one thing at a time. Yup, we girls are natural-born multitasking experts! *自豪*

Anyway, am glad that everything's done ^^ Am soOOOooo efficient! hehe...

Potluck @ Office

Am so full! The gloomy weather outside isn't helping. It makes me think
of my cozy bed at home!

I just had one big lunch in my office. Each of us brought something self-made today to share. I'm ashamed to say that I didn't make the Mee Siam I took to office. It was YUM by the way. My mum made it for me this morn, before the sun and the lazy dude rose *^V^*

I did purposely wake up half an hour earlier than usual so I could make it fresh but it was already all done and nicely packed when I went to the kitchen. No wonder everyone says Mum's the greatest!!
*touched* I agree with both hands and legs.. oh, can i borrow yours too? hehe...

Doesn't it look as if I'm going for a picnic?

Let's DIG IN!

I still feel like having toasts with melted peanut butter after such big lunch though. Strange. I'm full to my throat and yet I am still thinking about food....
