Special Day!!

First of all, let's cheer out loud! 

For it's that special time of the year again!

Nope, it's not because there are crazy online sales!

And nope, it's not because a lot of couples get married on this day.

It's simply because it's the birthday of a pair of adorable identical twins who, when standing together, looks exactly like 11 hahaha...

Years ago, Jane and I were playing in a netball competition against our colleagues from Sabah. She was the goal keeper while i was the goal shooter. We effortless (ok, i exaggerated. actually with little effort la hahaha) got ourselves 13 goals against 0. The opponents looked embarrassed so we decided to give them 1 goal. Jane had to pretend she jumped short and couldn't block the shooter from shooting hahaha.. from then onwards, Jane and I became famous in the Land of Borneo and  are known as the Twin Towers.

I feel lucky to have a friend, a soul mate as soon as we were conceived. Am sure Jane feels the same way too because her life would be soOOooo dull without my existence for sure!

Thank you to my family and friends who sent us birthday wishes through all kind of means. 

And thank you to those who took precious time out from their busy lives to take me out for meals. 

And of course my parents, who took me to nice dinner on 11/11. Too bad I forgot to take a pictures with them T___T

Oh, i just remembered that, i still have birthday cake in the fridge. I better clear it because the moulds get to it.

小時候的命運

小時候我們有一位好朋友。她跟我們同年同月同日出生。她也有一個雙胞胎姐姐但貝比時她們倆就被分開了，分別被送到2個不同的家庭。我爸媽說，當時這樣的事情很普遍

我和jane也差點面對同樣的命運。我媽說，當時爸爸只是個小小的政府部門秘書，微薄的工資剛好夠用。現在多了2小，負擔很重了因為什麼都得買2份。

當時我媽媽有一位要好的馬來朋友。她一直想要一個女兒，來了我們家“看”了好幾次。聽我爸說，她可能私下求我媽媽讓出一個，我媽媽想到小孩可以在富裕的環境長大也很好，而且也可以減低家裡的開銷，所以就答應了。正當馬來朋友抱著其中一個時（也不知是哪個），爸爸突然出現，把我們其中一個從她手中搶了回來。然後告訴馬來朋友，小孩不能給她。

幸好我爸爸把我們搶回來，否則大家就沒機會認識這麼可愛的雙胞胎姐妹花了呵呵〜 

難怪有人說、小時候的命運爸媽是關鍵、長大後命運在自己的手裏～ 

不知哪个是哪个 哈哈

It's the special time of the year again. 

Yup, it's the birthday of a pair of wonderful twins.


Things change every now and then but one thing that never changes is ---- *drum playing* 

Jane and Jennifer will ALWAYS be the wonderful and adorable twins 

Haha, i'm sure nobody will oppose to it. After all, today is our birthday. We are the Kings of the World... for the day :P

It's my custom to write on 11.11 of every year.... It's a record of how far i've come :P

Thank you everybody for the birthday wishes *touched* They came from FB, email, chats.... from all over the world. My sister, nephew and nieces even recorded a birthday music duet video for us and then screamed out happy birthday to us. Even my 8 months old nephew said happy birthday to us... in baby words.... 

Thank you my family and friends who took me out for big meals. I've been eating non-stop since last Friday and more to come even after my birthday. I feel so loved! Jane said today is a thank you day for us. She is right. I've been thanking people since I opened my eyes this morning! haha.. But I like it... I feel lucky to be blessed with so many loving family and friends!

Something funny happened last Friday. My old pal Vivien made an appointment to have dinner with me long ago. And since Jane made a last minute decision to come home, we decided to give Vivien a surprise by having Jane suddenly dropping in half way through the dinner.

It turns out, Vivien surprised me by secretly getting other friends to join our dinner to celebrate birthday for me! I was touched and they were happy to see me surprised. I too was secretly happy that I could surprise them back later hehe... As soon as Jane touched down, she took a taxi straight to where we were. My friends were all surprised to see Jane. Ha! Priceless moments!

MY FAQ regarding Jane & I

Many strangers I meet are fascinated when they find out that I'm a twin.

They ask all sort of questions like what's it's like to have a twin, whether we like the same things, colours, food, clothes & etc, whether we can feel how the other twin feels, whether we have the same thoughts and personalities....

Well, can't blame them for their curiosity.  After all, they are not a twin themselves :P Maybe there should be a FAQ about being twins so these people can just google for the answers haha... 

I'm nice (and i know it! :P) so here are some of the answers which I've compiled

1) What's it's like to have a twin?

 I've slightly touched about this before.

2) Do we like the same things, colours, food, clothes & etc? 

When we were small, may be. Because we didn't get to choose what we liked. Our parents just bought the same things for us to prevent us from fighting. Yeah, it could be a bloody scene nobody wanted hehe... As we grow older, we started to develop our own thoughts, after all, we are 2 different individuals although we look alike lah... i did explain why in my previous post. 

3) Can we feel how the other twin feels?

Hmmm.. this is a hard one to answer... Well, I guess this doesn't limit only to twins. If you have your heart for someone, whether it's your family, friends, colleagues, pets, strangers... u can feel how the other feels. 

4) Do we have the same thoughts & personalities?

Of course......... not. That explains why we fight haha... We do have similar thought I must say... like:

How Jane & I communicate~

Our family and friends think Jane and I are an interesting pair of twins. When we are apart, we call each other everyday to chit chat. When we are together, we fight, we argue, we talk back, we get angry at each other and then......... the next second, we are good friends again. 

Some don't understand how this relationship works but some who fight with their better halves and then make up will understand. However, there is a risk associated with fighting couples because when one of them gets tired of the constant fighting over tiny weeny matters, he/she might ask for a separation/divorce @_@ For Jane and I, it's different because no matter how much we fight, Jane can't live without me and my life would be boring without Jane. Hehe, Looks like we are stuck with each other! ;P

The other day, i was playing with the instant chat called LINE which contains a lot of funny stickers. OOOooo, they have very good stickers because you can easily find a sticker that shows your feeling and thoughts without u having to say a word. Cool right? but u still need to use with care because, like i said before, messages are subject to reader's interpretations and can cause a lot of unnecessary dispute  ;P 

OK, back to me playing with LINE, I suddenly discovered a few stickers that show our communication cycle! I called it the JJ's way of communicating haha...

We can be the bestest friends one sec and the next we can be talking angrily to each other, then pulling each others' hair out, kick and punch (OK, these only happen in our minds because we are against physical violence hehe...) each other. Then the next sec, we are the bestest friends again... and then the cycle repeats itself......

This is the greatest thing about a family. No matter what, we love each other unconditionally. Like Jane said, "(family) love happens in a strange way. That's the power of love!"

So the next time u see us 'fighting', u know that is the JJ's way of communicating ^^

Hip Hip Hooray!

It's that time of the year again... haha, am not talking about Xmas... it's J & J's birthday! Yayee....

1111 is such a nice date. It's easy to remember and also, many friends think it resembles Jane and I. Because we are tall and slim *ahem* and when we stand side by side, we look just like 11. Okie, it kinda makes sense... 

We are also the famous "Twin Tower". A few years ago, we participated in the netball game. I was the Goal Shooter while Jane was the Goal Keeper.. And we won the game 13 - 1. hehe, 1 point was a gave away so to give our opposition 'some face' la.. It was a friendly game after all..... Since then, Jane and I are known as Twin Tower...

I like to post something on 1111... Well, just to leave a footprint on this special day and also, to let my friends know that I'm still alive... for another year! :P 

Am very lucky to have Jane since the date we were conceived.  I never have to worry about not having someone to play with, talk to, fight with etc. ...... Of course, there are downsides too (as usual, there are 2 sides to a coin :P ), like being mistakenly scolded at for something Jane did, constantly being compared with, having less to eat because I have to give a portion of food to Jane (strictly speaking, I had to share food with her since the day we were conceived! haha... ), sharing the same bedroom and clothes with her etc.....  Well, no matter what the downsides are, I don't really mind because not everyone has a soul mate to grow old with... ^^ 

When we were in uni, we know a pair of boy twins... They were not close... In fact, they stayed in different homes just so that they didn't have to face each other everyday and they seldom talked to each other... It's sad that this happened to them... They have missed out so much! Haven't had news from them for many many years.. I hope they cherish this special relationship and start to enjoy each other while they still have it...

Well, I went shopping and guess what my receipt says? On 11.11, i spent $111.1...! 1111.. get it? hehe...

You know what? I think the real meaning of our birth date 1111 is that Jane and I are best of the best! :P 

Double J

Many people get confused when they see us.... The most heard remark is "I can't tell you guys apart!". Strangers say that a lot.... Some friends still get confused.... They still take 1 minute looking at us, trying to find some clues.. I don't know what clues they are looking for, which can tell us apart.. Can u let me know? Is it the hair? Or the eyes? Or is it the way we talk or our expressions? 

I always think, Jane and I do not look alike... Some people say we don't need a mirror at all because all we need to do is look at each other ... But the thing is, every time i look at Jane, I don't think I look like her! Jane thinks so too.... I guess mirror is still required la... Just in case i have ketchup on my face and Jane doesn't.. hehe...

One article said, identical twins look exactly the same when they are small ~ They wear the same clothes, same hairstyle and go to the same school, meet the same friends. 

At their teenage years, they start to be a little bit different. They start to have different interests, different strengths, start to have different friends...

When they get a little more mature, they start to become totally different both in personalities and look.... due to different exposures in lives... It's true.... U can tell from the picture below that we don't look identical anymore...

There are 2 things that will always be the same ~~~~ we will always be the adorable twins you know of and we will always be fun to be with! y(^V^)y  I see Jane nodding her head hard... Looks like we still have many similarities despite our different looks and personalities..... Twins.. how can u not love them? buahaha..
