Misunderstanding can be Disastrous!

Saw the collectible DVD of "Congo" at Kenyalang the other day.

A funny memory popped up immediately.
You need to know a bit of Hakka to be able to catch the joke though ^^

My youngest brother was watching TV in the living room on a Sunday night in Perth. The following dialogues were in Hakka. I translated to English to help with understanding ;p

Me: Wui, what are you watching?
Bro: Congo
Me: Con-go? [Con-go means 'watched already' in Hakka]
Me: If you have watched it previously, Go to bed lah!
Bro: Congo!
Me: I know! If you have seen it, don't waste time. Go to sleep lah!
Bro: CONGO!!

*By now, I was already very frustrated at my brother for being so stubborn*

Me: I said.......,*raised my voice' IF YOU HAVE SEEN IT. GO TO SLEEP!!!!
Bro: *sigh* The movie is called CONGO!
Me: ..... (@_@"') *Opppps... Quickly walked away*

Don't believe until you see with your own eyes!

I'm eating Korean snacks while watching Korean series. OOooo... I feel as if I'm in Korea!! ;)' Okie, let's talk about something else so you guys won't feel jealous ^^ See how considerate I'm??

Imagine this:

U are speaking to someone whom you have not met before on the phone. Hmmm.. You think he/she has a beautiful voice. You will start wondering how he/she looks like right? Sweet/sexy/attractive voice means he/she is handsome, sexy or beautiful?? Yes but is it always true?

A friend called me at my office the other day. My colleague happened to pick up the phone before I did. She asked me who it was because, per her, he has got a sexy voice. Sexy? *scratching head* I didn't give my phone number to Brad Pitt leh.... Hmmm, mayb I should've hehehehe....

I was laughing til I rolled around on the floor [the next day, my kakak praised me for keeping my area sparkling clean. No need for her to vacuum liao] when my friend spoke! No offence, my friend. I laughed because I was vvvvvv happy to hear your voice *wink*

I'm a fair person. You guys be the judge lar.

Here is his sexy picture:-

Isn't he sexy? (psk, he imitates Rose in Titanic)

My colleague's remark made me think of a girl nicknamed 'Lion King'. Here is a brief intro of her for those friends who do not know her. She has a very sweet voice (over the phone). You will think that you are talking to Sharon Stone. BTW, she is also famous for imitating Sharon Stone's ' panties-less legs switching' scene in the movie Basic Instinct. Hmm... she left quite an impression on many EY guys. The sexy move is STUCK in their mind! So lucky of them to see the live performance! ;p That is one of the items on their "100 things to see before they die" list! Now they can die with no regrets liao hiak hiak hiak...]. Having said so much, she actually looks like, well, as the name suggests, LION KING! hehe... *laugh til i roll on the floor* That brings us back to my question - is it always true that sweet/sexy/attractive voice = handsome/sexy/beautiful person?

Hankuk esuh Watsumnida - "I'm from Korea"

My parents sent me a parcel all the way from Korea. I'm surprised and not surprised at the same time.

Surprised because everyone who has been to Korea complains that things there are vvvvvv pricy (Heard that it's the 2nd most expensive city in the world!). So, I didn't expect my parents to buy much.

Not surprised because my mum buys everything she sees! You should see the number of luggage we have when we returned from Shanghai! 2 luggage turned into 4 luggage + 2 boxes + 2 hand-carried bags!

Anyway, I was very excited!! So as soon as I received the parcel, I ripped it open. hehe, can't wait to see what they've bought mah.... (^~^)

From Korea - No mistake

Full of Korean tit bits!! *eyes popped out*
Don't understand Korean. Too bad :(
Gotta watch Korean movies & listen to Korean songs more often liao

Jeju catcus jelly, sweet tangerine jelly, my kimchi powder
Ginseng sweets & even ginseng soap!

Korean Apple wine, Ginseng wine & Guava wine
(hehe, We are not alcoholics. We just love wine ;p)
Even got my parents' pics on the wine bottles! kawaine (so cute)!

OOOooo, i gotta go liao. My Korean fruits, snacks and wine are waiting for me... ^^ Before I dig in, must remember to wash myself with ginseng soap hiak hiak...

I want my money back!!

I'm disgusted! Every time I think back, I get goosebumps & wanna THROW UP!

I was preparing to enjoy my XXL guava just now when.... I don't keep a knife in the office so I ate my guava like an apple. After my 2nd bite, a few white stuff 'flew' out of the guava. I took another bite until I noticed that there were maggots bounching up & down on my table!!!

O-M-G!! I instantly jumped out of my chair, throwing the guava away from me at the same time and ran straight to the toilet to vomit!! It was sOOOooooo DISGUSTING!!! The middle of the guava was rotten and there were maggots crawling here and there, in and out!!!! OOOhhh, so gross!!! @_@

I'm now mentally unstable. I'm still trying to come to my sense that I actually bit into a guava full of slimy white moving maggots! Not sure if i swallowed any worms. But even if i did, they were already out of my system. EeeEeewwww.... ccs! I want my money back and also compensation for the negative effects caused on me!!! I'm now 'guava-phobia'.

Imagine these in your body! Yuckssssssssss...........

Am not yet done with Raya Visiting

Still going on and on about Hari Raya visiting ;p I can't help it! I had so much fun this year. Yes, bad incidents occurred but I refuse to let them spoil my holiday ^^ Life should be filled with joy and I find eating a joy (^V^)y

I haven't had a proper meal since the 1st day of Hari Raya. And my consumption of cakes and curry etc. is unbelievable. I don't remember myself eating so much Malay food and cakes before!! I am really addicted to food. I even think about it as I type. Scary.... Everytime I walk into a house, I make sure that I sit closest to the table with lots of tit bits. And each time, I'm the first to take something from the serving tray ;p Fat? What's that? Who cares ? It's Hari Raya!

Today, we visited 8 houses in total. Only came home at 11pm! I wanted to continue with visting but sigh, have to work tomorrow!!! (-_-) Unlike my friends who could go on because they are on leave for the rest of the week! soOOooo niceeee...

My favourite dessert of the day? The mini cheese tarts at Zarrah's house. Very cheesy, very yummy, very irresistable.

The Masak Merah at Mizlina's place beats Mos'. Was glad that I sat right in front of the dish. I'm not sure if my friends noticed, because I had 8 pieces of chicken altogether. Incredible huh? hiak hiak hiak... It was simply too good! ^^

Black Sunday! I'm so 黑仔!!

Today is the 2nd day of Hari Raya & also my BLACK Sunday. Jane just had her black Fri or Sat not long ago, and now, it's my turn! Gosh, we are a pair of unfortunate twins :'(

All the bad things happened in one Sunday afternoon.

Incident 1
Made a quick trip to the supermarket. Was so happy that the place was quiet (love Hari Raya. People are all in Petra Jaya area!) and that I could complete my marketing in less than 5 mins Awesome! Was in a happy mood until my car made a funny eeek eeek eeek sound when I tried to start the car. eeek eeek eeek once; eeek eeek eeek twice; eeek eeek eeek N times; eeek eeek eeek I gave up & called for help. After 45 mins of 'trying-to-be-a-mechanic', my angels came to help. Was so relieved that my angels managed to revive my car! Phew....... ^^

Wait.... my bad luck isn't over yet.

Incident 2
My friend's car was knocked by a Proton Wira when we were on our way to Azua's place. My 1st reaction? SAD because that means no more raya visiting for the rest of the day liao. Haiya, I was so looking forward to seeing her new house!! Damn! (-_-) *sigh*

I felt like swearing and punching that stupid Malay driver. He admitted that he was at fault BUT, refused to compensate us for the damage! He kept saying that he didn't wanna get the police involved because it will be a complicated process. We even made him an offer that we would share 50% of the total repair cost so we could end this going-no-where argument. RM300 compound to police could be spent on the repair instead! But this stubborn idiot wouldn't listen. Seeing that he wanted no responsiblity for the damage and inconvenience he has caused, we went to Simpang Tiga to lodge a police report. Spent 3 hours altogether - 1 hour reasoning with the rotten egg and 2 hours at the Police. What a way to celebrate Raya.......

Incident 3
Just when I thought that my life would improve after going thru 2 bad events, there came a 3rd blow. My very important connection to Jane has gone haywired! Not my telepathy power, you silly. It's my video phone!! Haven't been able to properly catch up with Jane ever since she went to US a week ago. Now that she is finally back to HK, I couldn't chat with her?? I've so much to share with her!! Oh man, life is indeed full of suprises. u never know what you gonna get.....

Am glad that my black sundaywill be over in 13 mins time... Fingers crossed that I will have a great & smooth-sailing life from tomorrow onwards. Wish me luck!!

Today is the 1st day of Hari Raya. The day I've been looking forward to since CNY (*V*) So full now. Can't even find a single space in my tummy to fit my mum's cooking! I even have to say NO to my favourite steam minced pork! Something I never do but today's the exception ^^

My consumption of curry, masak merah, kueh lapis, satay, lemang for today = 1 year of my usual intake!! Oh Noooo, Jenn is growing into [or growing bigger than??] a king kong liao haha...

My vote for the best curry & masak merah goes to Mos. Unfortunately, i don't have photos to share with u guys. There were too many people at his place at that time. Could hardly move let alone snapping pictures! His relatives made up of 99.99% of the visitors. He said the relatives we see at that moment = 10% of his relatives and many more are still on their way. O-M-G, there were about 30 of them at that time. No wonder it was so congested at Petra Jaya!! All his relatives must be out on the road, causing the heavy traffic jam!!! haha...

Masak Merah... i ate piece after piece after.....

My vote for the best cake goes to Rose. I simply love her Lumut!! It has always been on my mind ever since I tasted it two years ago. It's so rich, so smooth and best when taken cold. The minute you put it in your mouth, it melts... Just like ice-cream. Aaaahhh, heavenly............ I'm already looking forward to the next Hari Raya!!!

Green - not only good for the eyes but also good for tummy ;p
Many more disappeared after this photo shoot ^^
Aiyah, the sight of Lumut makes me drool. I wanna eat.........!

I'm (especially my tummy) really exhausted after the raya visiting. Two more days of visiting to go........... Gambatei yo! hehe...

Panda Jenn

*Yawn.......* very sleepy now... Got dark circles now. All thanks to Jane for waking me up at 3am last night. She called me on my mobile phone (better have it turned off next time ;p) and asked me what I was doing. None other than sleeping and dreaming of coz! Jane later apologised for she has forgotten that we are in different time zone. Jane, you are so 'sotong'! haha....

Sotong is a word our S'porean friends use to mean 'blur' and 'forgetful' whereas the Hongkie refer to those as '
大頭蝦' [big headed prawn]. If you get fired, it's called '炒魷魚' [fried squid]. And if you are tragically ugly, you are known as 豬排 [Pork Chop]. I wonder if learners of Chinese language ever got confused with these slangs! With all the food in our conversations, they might've thought that we were discussing about our next meal! haha.. We Chinese sure like our food!

Japanese anyone?

Went to Miri for 2 days a while ago to attend one of my buddies' wedding ceremony, which reminds me - c2, you still owe me the photos we took on your big day! U better settle your 'debt' before CNY oh...

My brother insisted on taking me to Brunei for Japanese lunch before my
departure. My flight was in 4 hours
time! How to go? What if I missed my flight?

After a lot of 'bargaining', I got myself a v good deal - my brother not only would pay for the lunch but also would compensate my loss if i missed my flight. hehe, free food + insurance for missing flight = why not??? I've got nothing to lose! That's one advantage of being the younger sister ;p He assured me that I would not regret because this restaurant serves very good Japanese food. Price is reasonable and quality is good. Most importantly, food come in BIG portion. Well, they better be because I traveled a long way to eat them!

*Drooling*

Fresh Crunchy Tempura; The Japanese Beans are my favourites! I like the ginger too

I only managed to take 2 pics of our delicious Japanese lunch. Didn't have time because we were v hungry and rushing at the same time. I practically swallow everything without chewing, like a snake!

My
brother was right. Food were excellent!! It was definitely worth missing my flight! *2 thumbs up - oh, can i borrow urs too?* U thought I missed my flight didn't u? We were fast & fury. I made it to airport just in time.

I recommended Excapade Sushi Restaurant to ccs & my colleagues. They love it too! We
were discussing abt it this afternoon because they will be taking a business trip to Brunei this coming Dec. And they wanna visit Excapade Sushi again. I'm envious lah... I wanna go too! haiya, I want my Japanese food now! Ta Pao for meeeeeeeeee.......

Disney FUN

Jane is now on the plane to the US. She left HK at 10am (our time) on Saturday and will reach US at 2pm (US time; 2am on Sunday, our time) on Saturday. Isn't that weird? It's like it only takes her 4 hours to fly from one continent to another!

Wonder if Jane will visit the Disney World in Florida. One of my ambitions is to visit all the Disney theme parks around the world! Okay, laugh all u want about my childish ambition. There is a kid in us. U just don't wanna admit it haha...

So far, I've only managed to visit one Disneyland -- Disneyland, Hong Kong. That was like 2 years ago! Think it will take me quite long to visit all the Disney theme parks. But at least I'm one step closer in achieving my ambition! Hooray!!

Just had tea with Sleeping Beauty...

My Disney Lunch - Mickey Mango Pudding & Char Siew Burger

Jane and Jenn's favourite cartoon characters on heads

I wanna fly off with Buzz Lightyear!

Tarzan & Jane

My favourite ride of them all

A happy ride in Hunny Pot

Please excuse all the screaming . We were very excited, esp me ^^ The video was quite 'shaky' too because it was a bouncy ride! Had a great time in Hundred Acre Woods.. I wanna go visit pooh bear & friends again!

Rabbit or Cow?

Was eating part 1 of my lunch this afternoon when my colleagues said I looked like a rabbit. Rabbit?! haha, that's one gigantic rabbit, man!

Mine is the one on the right ;p

My bucket-size lunchbox!

Got lettuce, cabbage, capsicum, cucumber, carrots, papaya & cheezy sausages (not the Asian-type of hotdogs. These are gifts from my sister, especially air-flown from Perth ^^ They are homemade & contain no preservatives oh. yum yum leh?). My colleagues said im a rabbit because my lunch box is full of 'plants'. But Jane said I look more like a cow! She said rabbit cannot be that HUGE! *hurt* But I want to be a rabbit! Fluffy rabbit is more adorable mah.. Okay, I may be slightly bigger than Bugs Bunny. But can't I be the XXXXXXXXL rabbit then? It's better than being a moo moo...

Butter Cookies

At about 1030 last night, I had a sudden urge to bake something. So I took out the ingredients and utensils (had to first clear the spiderweb ;p) and started making butter cookies. In 30 mins, i got many little golden brown butter cookies.

Brought these Little Devils to share with my colleagues today. Unlike those who treated me like Ms. Invisible at the charity sale,my colleagues were eager to try them. Glad to know that they liked them ^^. They even asked me what breakfast I'm making for them tomorrow! Ummmmmm... sorry to disappoint them, they will have to wait for my next sudden urge hehe...
