Busy in Melbourne

Jane has 10 B's to justify her long silence. What about me? My hands are tied up because of all the food actions that are going on in Melbourne. Is that a good enough reason?

Family Time

We used to travel together as a family very often when I was small. Every school holidays, we would be heading somewhere, even if it was just a resort 45 minutes away from home. It was great fun! I have a lot of fond memories about our family retreats.

However, as each of us grow older (& busier with our own lives), the tradition of family holidays slowly vanishes. The last family trip I remember, happened ages ago. As all my sibblings are all over the place, it's just so difficult to gather all of us in one place, at the same time! So difficult that we haven't had a family meal with EVERYONE around the table for years. It's that sad, i know....

After months of discussion, persuasion, frustration (so hard to set a suitable time!) and research, guess what happens? We managed to revive our tradition of family retreats! *Yayeeeee...* FINALLY!

This coming Sunday, we are off to Melbourne where my youngest brother is. The destination is not my greatest concern. Anywhere is good as long as it's a place where all my loved ones are :)

A Cat named Meow

A year ago, Husky died of car accident. It was heart-breaking for me and my family, especially my mum. For the past year, each time someone has a dog or cat to give away, we always politely reject. Not that we hate animals. We are just afraid of the day we have to part with them. A fear that everyone has.

A year later, a friend has a kitten to give away. We decided to adopt her. Althought she is completely different from Husky (i.e. not a doggie; obviously. DUH!), she reminds me so much of Husky - the naugtiness, the madness, full of energy, the pickiness on food, the cheekiness and most importantly, they both got bullied by the same darn monster.

So different and yet so many similarities... I suspected that my kitten is actually Husky in a cat's body. Or am i thinking too much?

Our new pet - Meow.........

Ohhhh... Such an innocent look

Welcome to the family, Meow!

In the Dark

It was pitch dark in Kch (I later found out that the whole of Sarawak was in darkness) last night. Felt as if we were in a big dark tunnel.

Birthday dinner for 2 birthday boys at 7pm became supper, MINUS 1 birthday boy.

No traffic lights, no rules. Roads were congested. It was a sea of red rear lights on the roads. Cars moving forward very slowly. From the side, it looked like a long train. A lost train.

Electricity came back at about 9pm in our area. Even more reasons to celebrate. By then, we were all starving and we ended up ordering too much and were full to our throats. Moral of the story: Never order food when you are starving.

080808

Nothing special about today.

Just wanna 'leave a record' here simply because it is 080808 today! It will be another 1,000 years before the next 080808. By then, I won't be around anymore. I think that's a good enough reason to write a post ^^

Let's cheer for China at 8pm on 080808!

Rotten Mummy

Went to watch Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor last night. It is my must-see because Jet Li is in the movie.

What's my rating? Can I give a negative number because i think that's what it deserves.

Jet Li still looks cool. He always does, no matter acting as a good or bad guy. Love to see him in action! He is quick and serious when he fights - ahhh, things that make a man sexy.... ;p

Personally, I think he is the BEST in martial arts. Stand aside, Jacky Chan. Okie, we all know how 'fightable' Jet Li is. But him turning into a 3 headed dragon that breathed out fire and also transforming into a hairy beast with horns????? New skills izit?

Mannnn...I laughed so hard and so much during the show. Not with the movie but AT the movie! haha... It's entertaining. In the dumb way. U just gotta see it to know what I'm talking about though it's not recommended to burn your hard-earned cash like that. Hmm.. probably just go get a cheap DVD and share it among a group of people. Paying 10 cent for a crappy movie? That, I won't complain ;p

The movie gets rotten eggs and tomatoes from me. As for Jet Li, he still gets my admiration :)

Mummy can breathe out fire worrr....
