My Sunday night was spent making Kimchi. Have been wanted to make Kimchi ever since I finished mum's months ago. It isn't a complicated process but it's very time consuming.
I started making Kimchi at 530pm and after i cleaned up the mess that I've created, it was already 1045pm. Ppl say a pic tells a thousand tales. So here are three thousand tales for you ;p
I rushed downstairs this morning before I was even fully awake just to check on my kimchi. I was just like a kid who can't wait to rip the mysterious present open on Christmas day. It smells very good but when I tried it, it doesn't taste like mum's! And, like a kid not getting what she has wished for, I went to tell mum about my disappointment. Surprisngly, she said she found it quite tasty and that my kimchi smells and tastes better than the one she made before.
Really? Is she trying to lift my spirit on a Monday morning? Does it really taste better than hers? Hmm.. guess I should not have doubts. She is the food expert. I should have more confidence in myself. How bad can I be? I'm, after all, the daughter of God of Cookery ;)
The cabbage is still left in the kitchen to further ferment. I like my Kimchi sour and stinky.. haha.. what a weird way to say it. Sounds so gross......... but yet appetizing ^^
