Need to rest

I'm sleep deprived. I've not had sleep enough since last thursday. My body is angry with me. This morning, I woke up feeling warm, so I went to see a doctor.

Chewable Vitamin C tablets for children! That's what my parents used to buy for us when we were kids. It brought back a lot of memories....

Dec is a busy month for me. I have been busy attending all sorts of dinners - wedding dinners, family dinners, farewell dinners, official dinners etc...

I'm sick of eating out. I know i'd had enough of outside food when i looked at the nicely presented yummilicious food, and wished I was given a bowl of porridge and an onion omelette instead.

Aren't I easily contented? haha...

Dec must be a great time for couples to get married coz last weekend, I went to 2 wedding dinners 2 days in a row. At the same place and served with almost identical dishes. I have a few more weddings to attend before Father Xmas visits.

oooo, time flies. It's gonna be xmas again, soon!

I've attended many wedding dinners before and none of them failed to amaze me.

Tell me, how do 2 people (or 6, including parents of the groom & bride) know so many people? Like 1500 of them? Can someone really know that many ppl in his/her life? I dunno. I've never tried to count the number of ppl i've known in my life? Have you?

Some of my friends said they've, when they were listing out the names of the guests to invite to their weddings. Another question is, how could you be sure that you've listed out EVERYBODY you've known? I mean, I could barely remember events happening last week...

.... pls don't interrupt me.... i'm trying to count.... :P

Beautiful Times

I've seen trees with green leaves, yellow leaves, orange leaves, brown leaves, no leaves but I've never seen trees with pink leaves before. Yes, PINK! Such a sweet, girly colour!

I've visited Rose Garden thousands times (ok, I exaggerated. Probably 10 times), never did I realise such a tree existed until i saw it with my own eyes! From afar, it looks just like a cherry blossoms tree - leave-less and full of pinkish flowers on the branches.

I was amazed when I realised that the 'flowers' were actually leaves! Ooo, u haven't seen those before too right? I took quite a lot of pictures of the tree. Hehe, sua gu of me huh? :P I couldn't resist. It's just so unique. We had our all-time favourite scones with fresh cream and English tea like usual at the Rose Garden while enjoying the colourful roses & tulips and family time. oh yeah, and the tree with pink leaves too... Hmm.. I wonder if there were any trees with blue (my fav colour) leaves. May be not. They would look as though they were sick...

I love Spring! The beautiful flowers make me feel like bouncing here and there in the garden, just like Tigger :)

We visited a new shop in town the other day and the sales assistant got us to put down our names and contact numbers in the VIP list. After we did that, she took a look at our names and said to my friends "oh, you two are sisters? i'm just guessing coz you two look alike and both of ur names start with an 'I'".

Being naughty, my friend joked 'yalor. we have another sister called Ipod but she is not here'. We bursted into laughter after that remark. The SA didn't laugh along though. Instead, she innocently said "Ipod? that's a very unique name!"

Where have i been?

It has been quite a while since i last updated my blog. In fact, I haven't surfed the net for more than half a month! hehe, i can see spiderwebs growing on my page already... kinda nice though.. they give it some 'antique' look :P

So, what'd been keeping me sOOoooo busy?

Plenty of food and fun occupied my time. So much that I didn't have enough time sleep @.@ <---- Panda I'm always busier when my sibbling comes back. Jane had plenty of rest and a stress-free life [^@^ <--- Jane] when she came back for vacation. I, on the other hand, had stressful stomach (due to too much food) and life (too much entertainment and too little sleep).

Next week, my sister will be returning from Paris. I will be one 'busybody' again. After that, my eldest sister and nieces will be visiting from Aust. OOOooo, never ending visitors!

I tried to piggy back it but pooh bear is darn heavy. I almost broke into half after carrying him for just 5 minutes! I guess hiding him behind me wouldn't work either since.. am proud to say, i'm smaller than him! (^V^)

I tried to pack him into my luggage but heck! He couldn't fit into it!

I searched everywhere, hi & lo for 15 minutures trying to locate my car key! I was very sure that i put it in my handbag but somehow when i really needed it, it could not be found *sigh* That's always the case when it comes to things you despearately need huh?

After emptying my handbag several times and almost turning every single piece of furniture upside down, I finally found it.

It was right there, with my handbag. Not inside but outside. To be exact, it was actually tangling to my bag like Slyvester Stallon in the movie, Cliff Hanger (-_-)

Hmm... I don't like this kind of hide and seek game. It's too exhausting for me....

The Truth hurts....?

Jane made it back to HK the other weekend after being away for 2 months. Thank goodness, I finally can get a break from trying to keep track of her whereabouts *exhausted brain*

Ah Fei told Jane that she looked like me when they met for lunch. That's good coz more and more people have commented that we don't look like twins anymore. NOOooo.. I don't wanna lose that uniqueness! :P

Anyway, Ah Fei thought jane looked like me because her face is now round after all the fatty food in Europe >_< Ummm, let me get this straight. Because her face is round, she looks like me???? So, that means my face has always been rounder than Jane's? So, that means I'm fatter than Jane? Correct or not? Many ppl said the opposite...

Jane was very happy at that remark (-.-) She laughed like a devil when she told me about it over the phone while Ah Fei was shouting in the background for innocence.

Actually, having a round face is not that bad coz it's a sign of 福气 (happiness). But I really think it's my curly hair that must have given ppl the wrong impression. Puffy hair adds volume and makes my face appears rounder than it actually is. Ha~ Easy way to console my broken heart eh? Blame the hair! Blame the hair! haha... *denial*

Pet Talk

I had a little pep talk with Tiger today while taking him to the vet last night.

I've had enough of his landmines at the car porch area. He just keeps pooping there like nobody's business no matter how i toilet train him! The portions out of him are not exactly small and they scatter here and there like stars in the sky. If only they twinkled like one! *fed up*

Mannn... Am seriously thinking of changing his name to 'Sai Ong' (Hokkien: Shit King).

Sai Ong is cute when he wags his tail and shakes his butt from left to right and then tangles himself around people's legs like a snake. But totally NOT when I madly wash the car porch while he jumps back and forth barking at and chasing after the moving broom.

A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G!

Arrgghh! He really makes me like and hate him! I don't understand why he doesn't get it since he obediently poops in the backyard every evening.

Hmmpphh.. If only he could talk, i wanna know what his problem is.

It's different this time. I didn't want to choose between them but I've no choice. I kinda miss my old pal. She has given me her best life, accompanied me and given me all the support I needed for the past few years. To be forever apart is heart-breaking!

But without her, life still has to go on. I just have to adapt to my new friend. I'm now busy trying to get along with my new friend and discovering the qualities she posseses. I still think of my old pal sometimes. Aw, I guess I really miss the sense of familiarity I have for her.

Last min change

I planned to bake cookies or a cake over the long weekend as the ingredients have been sitting in the kitchen for months, waiting to be meet each. Actually, I've had that plan for months but each time I am about to start, something always pops up to stop me. To be exact, it's my lazy thoughts of having to take out the ingredients and utensils for use, the torturing wait and the cleaning that put me off. That'd be a pity way to spend long holiday!

Last weekend, I thought i better be strict with myself and stuck to my plan. Oh yes, I did manage to make use of the kitchen at home as decided. Just that the finished product turned out quite different from planned.

Very different actually. Didn't look or taste anything like what I had initially had in mind hehe...

Hehe, I know. I made something completely different. Simply because it's a lot less time consuming and what's merrier? I only have 1 pan, 1 spatula, 1 knife and 1 chopping board to wash after that.

Oh well, I guess I will be stricter with myself next time....

Shampoo Story

I was taught not to waste from young.

So when I found my toilet bag filled with half a bottle of my leaked shampoo, I scooped out every drop of the liquid and applied it onto my hair. My whole head and bathroom were filled with silky smooth, candy floss-like bubbles... Hmm Hmm... delicious!

Not sure if it's because of the big amount of shampoo, my head feels so light after the wash and my hair is so clean that it shines, like the gal in the Pantene commercial.

Okie. May be not.

A pc of Heaven

Am very content with life at the moment... the one thing i wanted was finally satisfied last night. No new wants for now. Am still living in last night's satisfaction *la~ la~ la~*

My friend told me that whatever u crave for is something u r lacking... Is that so? For some reasons, i craved for cheese cake since last week. I craved for one so badly that I even remembered the cheese cake recipe SW promised to give me 2 years ago!

I also looked online for cheesy-licious cheese cakes pictures just to temporary fill up the 'gap'. While those are a pleasure to view and satisfied my mind but they didn't satify my taste bud at all. I really needed to taste a piece of real, toucheable, edible delicious cheese cake! Any flavour is fine. Gimme gimme *desperate*

Marble cheesecake last night was awesome! Every spoonful of it was a spoonful of heaven! I know I know, nobody really knows what heaven tastes like but to me, heaven tasted like cheesecake last night (^V^) My friends couldn't see it but I was actually floating in the air with happiness! Hmm Hmm.. I simply love the way the cheese cake melts when it touches my tongue!! So cheesy, so creamy, so heavenly!

Today, i no longer crave for cheese cake for I've boosted up my calcium level last night. I'm thinking of my cozy bed at home now I need my sleep *yawn* My sleep quota is on the deficit side right now...

My friend is right. I crave for things I lack...

Big Event

The leaders from all over the nation are all here for a big gathering. I must say, I can't wait for them to leave! It's nice to have all the big shots visiting my humble little city but... they are quite a nuisance. I hope i won't be jailed for this comment hehe...

The big shots don't car pool and get escorted by dozens of big police bikes and cars... good for them coz they are well protected and also won't have to get stuck in the traffic jam like us peasants. Red lights, green lights? No difference to them. All they need to do is to get their escorts to turn on their loud sirens and we peasants will squeeze ourselves to the sides of the already-very narrow roads to give way... mannn.... they travel in style!

Talking about the sirens, they are hurting my ears. The big shots travel up and down the road near by office and home millions of times a day. I thought I can give my ears some peace & quiet at night but noooo.. they still have their sirens on full blast at 12am! I guess it's their way of letting us all know that they are doing OT while we peasants are already in bed.

I bet the bad guys must be having a lot of fun this week for all of the policemen are out on the roads to clear traffic and escort the leaders around so they can catch up with each other.

I think it's wasteful to spend so much time, effort and money like this. I say, why not put them all in a bus like how we peasants travel when out in groups and just have a few big bikes and cars to escort (peasants have no such luxury). That would be so much more cost economical since economy isn't so well right now and everybody is trying to cut cost. It's also doing less damage to the ozone layer and what's more, they still get to travel in style! There, 1 stone killing many birds! How wonderful?!

Will somebody please put forward my great idea for endorsement? ;p

A bit disappointed

Went to watch Harry Potter 6 with my friend last night... (Sorry H, i can't wait any longer).

I'm a fan of Harry Potter. I have a collection of all the books and of course, I've read the sequel. 2 words - darn good!

I was a little disappointed in the movie. It didn't turn out as good as the book although it is good enough given that they only have 2 hours++ to tell everything. Hmm... I think I said the same thing about the previous HP movie.... oh well, that's why i read the books... The movies aren't so bad lah, just that the books are much better...

All Gone

So, Jane has left for Bangkok yesterday. The eating frenzy has stopped. What's left behind is a couple of empty plates.

Jane complained that she has become fat. I think it's time somebody tells her the real reason....

New Device installed

Following last week's break in, we decided to put in some detective device. Well, this device has yet to function....

It will be a while before this device can be put to use though. Still requires quite a lot of work. So.... we'll have to be patient...

In the meantime, we will just enjoy playing around until the device is ready to serve the purpose... which can be a lot of fun....

Tiger is one of the 7 puppies that were abandoned by their owner * how irresponsible!* He is only 3 weeks old and sOOOooo tiny! When i let him loose in the garden, i could hardly spot him!

Right now, I've to keep an eye on him when he is out and about, just in case my neighbour's cats mistakenly him as a fat rat!

Scary!!!!

I've been losing things in my room on a random basis for the past 8 months. At least that's how long i think it has been because i first realised abt it only in November last year when my bro was back from Aus for a long vacation.

First, I lost a purse containing some cash, thumb drives and a few mobile phone reload cards. I conveniently accused my brother for taking it. He ignored my accusation. Then I blamed my forgetful mind for misplacing it and let the matter go...

Sometimes I'd find things mysteriously moved from their usual spots in my room. Sometimes the windows were wide opened, blinds strangely pulled up (i usually leave it down), things scattered on the floor.... Nothing 'major' so I ASSUMED that my mum had done some cleaning for me. Full stop, no further queries and investigations.

Then, I lost my watch and more cash. Things became weirder and weirder but I couldn't never figure out how they just disappered. I kept asking my parents if workers or any of their friends had been to our home or if they have been taking things from my room for i've been losing stuff. No. What is happening around my room then? I thought so much that I thought I was beginning to lose my mind! I told Jane abt it and she joked that a thief must have visited. Nah, it couldn't be coz the grill in my room is still intact.

Last night, we finally found out! My mum heard loud banging noise from my room and found my door locked. When i rushed home to open the door, again, i found the windows wide opened, things moved from their usual spots, blinds strangely pulled up, things scattered on the floor and grills intact.

Again, we puzzled. But not for long this time coz we finally knew why. See if you can spot it.




No one would ever notice this damaged without a close inspection.





One of the bars is already 'detached' from its main support! OMG!!! Someone (or people) has been coming in and out of my room from that place from time to time! I've been sleeping in that room every night without knowing that! *goosebumps*

Last night, they took my brother's Ipod, PSP, my cash and things i've yet to recall...

I feel like taking my neighbour's gigantic and fierce rottweilers and German Sherpards and put at my home. I might be torn apart by them but... there is no price for a peace of mind....

Hungry before dinner

Mum was away from town for the past few days. That means no big meals at home. I was really hungry for something to eat before dinner time, so I made some Apple Popovers. Cute name for a dessert huh? BUT that's not the thing that caught my attention. It's the 'quick & easy' part hehe....

Just like its name, the apple pies popped up within minutes! And of course, they disappeared within seconds... Was too Hungry and they smelt so good and tasted awesome too hehe... The whole time i was popping the pie into my mouth, I kept thinking of Hot cinnamon apple pies with ice cream.... Haiya! Why no ice cream at home? Damn... I must stock up some vanilla ice cream in the fridge from now on for emergency like this!

I never knew that a person's back can make me feel this way。。。

I was walking behind Dad last night. Looking at his back, it struck me that Dad is no longer the young man in that picture he took with mum and the 'little' us.

Time has certainly left traces on him. I suddenly felt heavy inside... I know there are certain things in life that we cannot avoid and there is no way anyone of us can stop them from happening... Even with a knowing mind, I still wish that certain things would never have to happen....

.... I stopped myself from thinking too far and too much for the thoughts are scary and my greatest fears...

For now, let's not worry the uncontrollable and just enjoy each other's companionship....

Wormy Breakfast

There are manggots in my soup! Lots of them! They have infested and are swimming around in my food....!




Hehe, actually, Not. These are rice bubbles we bought from a shop that freshly made them in 15th Mile town last Sunday. It's the Hakka way of putting rice bubbles in our lui cha 擂茶 soup. Very tasty! Kinda like eating muesli. Bitter & savoury muesli that is ^^

Evening Walk

Yesterday, I took a walk to an auntie's place who lives just a couple of streets away from my home. I can reach her place in 30 seconds if I drive but looking at the breezy weather, I decided to take the time to walk instead. Also, I just had my dinner, a walk would help with digestion too ^^

I really like my neighbourhood. Thank goodness that there are fewer cars in the evening. It is so much quieter and peaceful at this time as well. The air was fresh. All thanks to the bushes in the area :)

It has not rained for many weeks and it makes going out a torture. I feel as if I'm being baked in the oven and my skin will become crispy in any minute! It's a crazy hot weather! But last night, the weather was different. Unexpectedly cool and breezy!

The breeze kind of felt good on my skin. And that salmon pink sky painted by the sunset looked yummy too! And since when do these colourful flowers grow along the roadside? Mannn... where have I been all this time? I drive on this road EVERYDAY!



I should take an evening walk like this around my neighbourhood more often. It seems that it's the way to discover things I don't notice or bother to look at! But...

I'm afraid of being chased by dogs.... (-_-''')

Oh well, I guess a discovery once in a while isn't so back ;p

Shocked and Sad...

When I was small, I didn't have any idol and I didn't listen to music. The only songs I knew were National Anthem and school songs. All my friends were into somebody but I was more interested in catching fish in the drains, climbing trees, pretending to be in war in our backyard etc...

Only when my sibblings and I started pretending to be dancing queens did I learn more about the music world. We became interested in Michael Jackson and tried to imitate his dancing moves. We tried to do his famous moonwalk and then the 'AW' moves but always ended up laughing til we rolled on the floor. We were just not meant to be on the dance floor...

When my friend woke me up from my sleep at 7am this morn telling me of MJ's passing, I jumped up from my bed like a mummy that just came to live! I thought it was a joke until I heard her teary voice. OMG! The King of Pop has died! Shocking & Devasting news! I couldn't help but felt sad too... *sob sob*

Although MJ was never 'officially' my idol, I did own a few of his CDs and also watched his biography on the tv. He was the only superstar I 'grew up' with. He was part of my teenage memory!

The radio station has been playing MJ's songs since early morn. Listening to them, they really bring back a lot of memories.... *Heal The World now playing in the background*

When he was alive, he was the child molester. Now that he died, he became the king of Pop once again... Sigh... it's sad that that's the way life works - one only gets appreciated after he/she is dead....

Mum set up a bamboo 'house' a few weeks ago in the backyard. I didn't know what she was planting until....

Egg plant & Winter melons

There are so many melons dangling from the stand like big ballons! Mum's effort paid off! It has also become my routine to check them out every morning and evening. They are just so cute to look at! ^^ Not only that, they give me lessons in life that you get what you work for and no matter what, the cycle of life continues....

It's amazing how fast these things grow! In no time, they will end up as healthy & delicious dishes on our dinning table. Hmmm... that's a mouth-watering thought.....

Need a Break

I can't stand it anymore! I've been sufferring for 2 weeks and seriously need some peace and quiet! I need a place to breath and relax or I might go nuts!

Ever since the ceiling in my office building collapsed, the workers have been busy installing reinforments to prevent similar recurrence. The drilling noise around me really agitates me! It sucks away my good mood and kill my nice days! :'(

Am so glad that it's finally Friday. I love Fridays! Not only is that the last workday of the week but also meant that I can enjoy 2 days of quietness over the weekend! That's definitely something to celebrate! So at lunch break just now, we decided to visit the new HK tea house nearby. The thoughts of being able to get away from the noise and enjoy the afternoon with some fun people light me up :)

Life is really full of surprises because the moment we entered the tea house, we were all taken aback by the 'red carpet' services. Big cameras with long lens were pointed at us and girls dressed in tiny sexy tube tops welcomed and surrounded us. For one moment, I thought we had won lottery! While one of the girls introduced the dishes to us, the cameras kept flashing at us. Mannnn... we really felt like famous celebrities except that we didn't have pretty make up on and hairdo and were not dressed in designer evening gowns >_<''

I was really hoping to relax during the lunchtime! And I'm so not used to so much attention! :P Oh well, it did make my lunch time interesting though...

Call me Goofy

This is how I feel now.....

I did something STUPID today. Sigh, how i wish i could turn back time to undo it.... if only life works the same way as a movie DVD that allows me to re-wind, fast-forward, pause, select scene....

My office phone rang just now and i thought it was a friend. She did sound like a friend of mine who likes to tease me whenever she calls. When the caller asked if she could speak to "ME", I teased and said NO. A LOUD, FIERCE no.

Guess what? It was actually a sales person from a training centre wanting to promote a seminar! I didn't react fast enough to turn the situation around *slow dummy* Instead, i pretended to be my own PA for 10 minutes!! She will call again tomorrow to speak to the PA's boss, AKA also ME.

Tell me I'm not a goofy....

Did I Over-Reacted?

Mum returned from Pontianak a day after me. On the night of my return, probably because of the fatigue, i 'accidentally' fell asleep at 9pm, with my mobile phone in silent mode. When I woke up, it was 330am. Crap! I hadn't even showered yet! When I checked my phone for time, I found 4 missed calls and 4 messages. One of the them said 'Please call me asap. S (friend in Indonesia) not managed to find your mum in Indonesia...'

My mind went blank and my heart sank. What happened to mum? Gosh! The first 2 days in Pontianak didn't go so well for mum and her gang so i immediately thought of the worst....

I called my friend at 330 in the morn. Nobody answered. Not knowing what happened, i became very worried. Then I called mum on her mobile phone. Nobody answered. Worse, the line suddenly broke off! *stress* All kind of bad thoughts popped up in my mind like mushrooms. Did someone else purposely switched it off? I became even more worried, like an ant on hot pot. Not knowing what else to do, I started to cry hysterically, like a kid losing her way in the street. I felt myself shivering when I re-dialed mum's number!

After what feels like an eternity, a familiar voice answered the phone. Mum was safe and in the middle of her dreamland! She had to spend a couple of minutes calming her crying daughter though...

Phew, good thing that nothing bad happened. Can't blame me... The message did sound really scary at that time..... Mum now laughs at me at every chance she has (-.-")

Haiz... she should be grateful to have such a good daughter like me!!

No one beats mum's cooking!

Mum made this last night. She combined scallops, sea cucumbers, minced pork, mushrooms, red dates and of course melons to make the soup. So extravagant I know! :P

Mum presented her work in a melon some more! So creative of her! It really looked like a dish from some high class restaurants. Now i know where i inherit my creativity from ^^ The soup was sweet with lots of seafood flavour! Tasted exactly like deep sea I say.... yummm...

I love my mum. She's the best!

I feel as if I were in Japan! Just look at the pink flowers on the trees along the road! Don't they look like cherry blossoms? So beautiful! Feel as if it's spring time in Kch! So nice to be able to see so many flowers while on my way to work and home everyday ^^ They really brighten up my days! *Happy*

Sometimes I see pink petals falling down softly from the trees like feathers, which kind of look like snowflakes... OOOoo, Spring and Winter happening at the same time in Kch? Odd but cool!! Or is it just that I've good imagination?
