Last weekend, I decided to try making my First kuih momo (I called it 毛毛糕 while CC called it Snowball as it melts when touches your tongue).
I got this very "advanced" recipe from an internationally known cookies expert, CC. I gave some of CC's homemade Momo to my friends in TW. They loved it! So much that they asked if I could courier this to them. I wish I could. But Momo needs to be gently handled. A little shake, they will crumble. So instead of eating Momo, you might end up with Momo powder and had to make drinks with it :P
Anyway, that's how CC gained her international recognition :)
Then I decided to try making momo with CC's recipe. She generously shared it with me even though it's her trade secret (she makes them for sale in Miri). The trouble is, i'm only pre-schooler in the baking department and her recipe is for ppl who have PhD in baking!
You see, she listed the ingredients with NO measurement. Although her instructions were clear but not for beginner like me... i don't know how much ingredients to use, how long i should bake the cookies for and at what temperature. So many question marks in my mind.
Then i found out the secret to yummy Momo. That is, to make it with your heart..... No wonder CC's Momo are delicious coz she makes hers with tender loving care....
Not so bad for a first timer right? :P
