Mucking Around

My mum always insists that we go to airport early. Really early. like 3 hours before departure.

It's okay if the airport is as interesting as Changi or Hong Kong Airports.

The airport here is so quiet that we can even hear our own breathing!

Thank goodness there is Starbucks!

Long live self-timer!

Long live WIFI!

Life In dulgence

I've been observing one trainee in my workplace for a while. Not that I'm nosy or have nothing better to do. It's just that I can see her everyday from where I'm sitting.

This girl, i think about the age of 20 drinks a can of coke everyday. During the day, she also eats choc waffles, cookies and other tit bits. Whether to kill boredom or hunger, I dunno... One thing I know is that her rubbish bin is always full of shiny sweet wrappers and cans.

She reminds me of myself in the past. I used to eat whatever I like without much care about the consequences. Ummm... I am still like that, just not as out of control ;p

Once, Jane, my bro and I finished one large pizza EACH in one night. It was winter and we were hungry...

Another time, Jane and I ate McD meals continuously for 27 days because of some silly Snoopy figurines collections. Oh oh, have u ever tried filling your mug with lots of milo, condensed milk and icy cold water and ate the gooey mixture with a spoon? I tell u, it's heavenly! Like you are floating in the air! oh oh, how about topping ur fresh strawberries with so much whipped cream that all u can see is a pile of white cloud? And did u know that ice cream goes really well with cooked glutinous rice? Ha! I bet you've never thought of that! My food adventure list just goes on and on and....

At that time, we always bought the largest of everything - the biggest bottles of full cream milk, juice & peanut butter, biggest tub of ice cream and yogurt, the biggest pack of biscuits, crackers, cheese, the biggest bar of chocolate etc... Hehe, we were trying to get more with our money. poor students mah... Then we would eat out of the tub, bottles and packs while watching tv...

Calories? Fat? bad for health? Nah.. we never heard of these terms.

I am still not very familiar with these terms but I am less careless these days because i notice that once my weight goes up, it never comes down :( I still eat like old times, just less uncontrollable but given valid reasons, I'm still as uncontrollable....

Maannnn... old habits are hard to break!

Raving about My room, AGAIN!

I better post this before it's too outdated :P

I woke up a few times from my sleep on my first night in my room (yeah,
it's that topic again! ;p). No, I didn't have nightmares.

me, the next day

I have this habit of not sleeping well on the first night in a new environment. Because of the total room change, my room which I've been sleeping in for yeeeaaarssss becomes a new and unfamiliar environment for me!

My parents have been nagging for years that I need to do something abt
my room, but the buffalo in me couldn't be bothered to budge. I reasoned that it's the way I like it... So u could imagine how shock they were when they came home from holiday to find my neat room. Hehe, a surprise once in a while definitely makes life more interesting ^^

During my stressful time, I came to realise that a room is actually a
bit like our heart and mind. Each day, we put in new memories and feelings, be it good or bad. We keep adding without throwing out the old, broken, unwanted, unneccessaries because we don't want or are not ready to deal with them. We have no organisation at all until one day, the tiny space is cluttered. Then we make excuses that we like it that way because cleaning is a frightening job!

While I removed things from every corner of my room, I saw things that I've long forgotten. Some I could not even recognise! Emptying our mind and heart is the same. We find memories and feelings which have been left untouched for years because they were buried so far below that we've forgotten about them. Then, we have to deal with each and every one of them and decide whether to keep or throw them away. So in a way, cleaning a room is like free-ing the space in your mind and heart. Once u get things sorted out, you feel light inside, as if u've been given a new life....

Now, wouldn't u rather clean your room instead of soul cleaning? It sure seems much easier to clean that mess in our room....

感動拉麵

What happens when u put 3 gals together? Play til dawn; Talk til sleep; Shop til drop; Eat til explode... that's basically our lives for the week in Taipei.

Food in Taiwan are absolutely tasty! Well, to me anyway. There are so so so much to eat that I could have different food every single meal (hour)! Even on my 2nd visit to Taipei, i still didn't manage to sample all the delicious goodies... hmmm.. That should be a valid reason for me to visit Taipei again ;p

One thing about food in Taiwan is that people really cook with their hearts. They use the best quality ingredients and they don't do shortcuts.

We discovered a Japanese restaurant that serves very (times infinity) delicious Ramen by accident. We were gonna eat at the other Ramen restaurant but it was closed.

We weren't expecting much coz the place looks just like any other ordinary Japanese restaurant. My Pork Ramen in Beef soup looked pretty ordinary too. Just a couple of slices of pork on top of the handmade noodles, a poached egg by the side, all covered in soup.

It was until I had my first bite that I broke down and cried. Hehe, not really, but almost. It was soOOooo good that I had tears in my eyes! I am not exaggerating! It was THAT good!

The owner stews the cow bones for hours til the soup turns milky white. It is the sweetest soup I've ever drunk! No MSG btw. And the pork slices are full of flavour, which MELT in your mouth. YES, you read it right and again, I'm not exaggerating. They really melt the moment they touch my tongue, just like good quality dark chocolate. No chewing necessary. Oh my gosh, I'm drooling all over my laptop as I type!

We left wonderful comments in the owner's Little Book of Compliments. He deserves them. The ramen really touches my heart :) We were gonna return for another bowl of
感動 ('sincere' ramen) but there are just too many other food to try during our limited stay. The only place we repeatedly visited is.....

My Mashed Taro ball in hot jelly!

I think I could live in Taipei...

Fly Lice

Hehe, u must be wondering what the heck fly lice is. That's the pronounciation in HK. It means Fried Rice lol

My breakfast menu for the past 4 days has been fried rice. Yup, fried the rice 4 days in a row. I'm not sick of it yet as mum's homecooked fried rice is always very tasty. But.... is 10 eggs in 4 days too much for me?

Yeah, I also think that it's a bit too much. Am turning into an egg soon! That's why I'm going to sweat it off by climbing Mt Singai for the 9th time tomorrow. I was gonna stick to Lucky 8 for the rest of my life but.... a bunch of enthusiastic mountaineers' fate depends on me so it's waking up at 6am tomorrow......

Yeah, I'm too nice I know....

Where is Jenn?

I feel as if I am slowly losing my identity, fade, disappearing....

More and more people mistake me or say I look like Jane lately. Why is it not the other way round?! Hmmmpphhh..... :/

Just 2 days ago, while having breakfast with my gang, we bumped into friends and one of them asked me when I'm leaving Kch.

My mind went blank and my world became silent for 10 seconds while I tried to figure out what she was referring to as, to my knowledge I'm going no where. I hadn't even planned where to go after breakfast!

Yep, u guess it right. She had mistaken for Jane......
